Public exhibition to be held for new development and train station at Waterbeach

RLW Estates, one of the two promoters for the Waterbeach New Town, are holding an exhibition to show their proposals for upto 5,000 homes and the proposed move of Waterbeach Train Station.

The exhibition will be held on 24th November, 14:30 – 19:30 and 25th November, 10:00 – 15:00 at The Salvation Army building, 7 Station Road, Waterbeach, CB25 9HT.

Chris Goldsmith, Director of RLW Estates, said:

“The will be the second exhibition we have held to show the residents of Waterbeach the plans that are progressing for the new town and also the proposed move of the train station.

“We will be showing how previous comments have been incorporated into our plans and also enable people to start to visualise what it will be like to live in the new town. We are committed to delivering a community that has sustainability at its heart, benefiting from the close links to Cambridge but maintaining a family friendly environment.”

‘We are excited to be showing for the first time our approach to creating streets and open spaces that will be people orientated rather than traffic dominated. Our intention is to create Superblocks that are car free, allowing communities to take ownership of the spaces around their homes for play, meeting, growing food, relaxing and working. Cambridgeshire as a County has embraced cycling and integrated open spaces to a greater extent than anywhere else in the UK and we want to help create a community that embraces this ethos’.
