A 6.5 acre site located on the A10 at Downham Road. Turnstone were selected by East Cambridgeshire District Council to develop Phase One as part of a new ‘Leisure Village’ comprising existing sports clubs and a new swimming pool (phase two).
The scheme comprises a 6 screen cinema, 4 in-line restaurant units, a further 2 stand-alone restaurant and takeaway units and 2 drive thru units with 380 car parking spaces. The scheme is accessed via two new junctions to Downham Road, to be shared by the sports clubs and phase two (once constructed), together with an underpass for pedestrians and cyclists.
A planning application was unanimously approved by East Cambridgeshire District Council at the 1st April 2015 planning committee meeting.
The £15.76m scheme was forward funded by Standard Life Investments on behalf of a segregated client. RG Carter Projects completed construction in June 2017.
Cineworld anchors the scheme with Frankie & Benny’s, Hungry Horse and Arbuckles occupying the in-line restaurant units. McDonalds and KFC occupy the drive-thru's. Within the standalone takeaway building the line-up includes Costa, Chosen Bun and Pizza Hut Delivery.
