St John’s College, with development manager Turnstone Estates, celebrated the completion of the Maurice Wilkes Building on St John’s Innovation Park in Cambridge on Friday 29th June.
More than 100 guests including family members of esteemed scientist and the building’s namesake, Sir Maurice Wilkes, came to watch the plaque unveiled by the Master of St John’s College, Sir Christopher Dobson.
The speculatively developed building comprises 65,653 sq ft (6,099 sq m) of Grade A office and R&D space. The scheme was fully committed prior to completion to occupiers including Darktrace, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Mewburn Ellis.
Chris Ewbank, Senior Bursar at St John’s College comments: “We are pleased to commemorate Sir Maurice Wilkes, computer pioneer, in completing this state of the art office building on the St John’s Innovation Park. We were very pleased to welcome the family of Maurice Wilkes to celebrate the buildings opening.”
