Charlie Clark cycles 400kms non-stop for the Red Hen Project

Charlie Clark successfully completed a 400km fundraising cycle challenge in support of The Red Hen Project in late July.

Starting in Cambridge Charlie cycled to London before joining the overnight London to Dunwich ride, returning to Cambridge the following morning. In total, he covered the 406km in an impressive 15 hours and 10 minutes of riding.

Charlie said: “Overall, I really enjoyed the event, apart from the last 50km which was pretty gruelling with a headwind and heavy rain.

“Riding at night was pretty special, seeing streams of red bike lights decorate the countryside. All sorts of people were taking part, from penny-farthings and Bromptons, to cargo bikes and even two dogs!

“The atmosphere at all the stops was electrifying and full of positivity.”

So far, Charlie has raised over £1,000 for The Red Hen Project, which supports children and families across Cambridge through one-to-one mentoring, family support and community activities.
