Cine Opens at Turnstone’s St Neots Leisure Scheme

Cineworld along with restaurants Pizza Express and Frankie & Benny’s have opened for trade in Turnstone’s new leisure scheme in the heart of St Neots. They are shortly to be joined by Prezzo who are fitting out their store and open in June. All are part of Turnstone’s Rowley Arts centre development undertaken in conjunction with landowners, Huntingdonshire District Council and St Neots Town Council, with development finance provided by Harmsworth Pension Trustees through Helix Investors.

At a grand opening ceremony on the 13th May, Cineworld treated guest to a premiere showing of the new block buster movie, Godzilla officiated over by new Cine Chief Executive, Mookey Greidinger, the first of his Cine UK openings.

Turnstone director, Chris Goldsmith, said “I am delighted to be here at the culmination of a lot of hard work to deliver a much need to leisure scheme for the people of St Neots. Many have been involved in the process. It is great to be building again for Cineworld – the first of a number for them as we assist in their further UK role-out.”

Huntingdonshire Councillor and former Town mayor, Barry Chapman, who was instrumental in working with Turnstone to bring St Neots the complex said “I have to keep pinching myself, I can’t believe after all these years of work that we are finally here.

If our predictions are right we are going to see a 25 per cent increase in retail sales and the night time economy becoming much more sociable and much more family-orientated, it is just amazing.

It is far more than a cinema, it is putting the heart back into the town.”
