Originally from Lincoln and from a family of surveyors and property developers, Charlie’s interest in the built environment started from an early age. After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc in Real Estate, which included a year in industry working for Leeds City Council, he began his career at Carter Jonas.
During his seven years with the Commercial Agency team in Cambridge, Charlie gained wide-ranging experience across acquisitions, leasing, sales, investment and development consultancy. He worked with clients including Royal Mail, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Trinity Hall College, Downing College and several regional property companies throughout the Eastern region. While he covered a range of sectors, his main focus was on industrial and warehouse projects, an area in which he has developed particular expertise and enthusiasm.
Charlie is particularly drawn to the industrial sector for its tangible contribution to local economies and communities, and is motivated by supporting the development of manufacturing facilities to create skilled employment and support sustainable growth in the local area.
Career highlights include the sale of a 17-acre development site in Chatteris to Tungsten Properties for a 300,000 sq ft manufacturing scheme, the acquisition of Wellbrook Court in Cambridge, and a number of successful large-scale industrial transactions in Huntingdon and Peterborough.
Joining Turnstone Estates as an Associate in December 2025, Charlie is working alongside the team on the Bedford Interchange South scheme and supporting the expansion of Turnstone’s industrial and mixed-use development portfolio across the East of England. Using his experience, Charlie is helping to identify and unlock new opportunities for the business.
Outside of work, Charlie is a keen cyclist and rugby enthusiast. A former scrum-half for Shelford Rugby Club, he now takes part in endurance cycling events including the Dragon Ride in Wales and RideLondon. When not on two wheels, he enjoys travelling and exploring new places, with recent trips including Mongolia, Nepal and Bosnia.
