Cambridge – Maurice Wilkes Building

A prominent site forming the southern gateway to St John’s Innovation Park, situated in the centre of the north Cambridge research and development cluster, close to the new Cambridge North railway station.

Turnstone were selected by the landowner, St John’s College Cambridge, to assist in the development of the site for a major grade A office building.

Following an earlier consent for 37,000 sq ft on the site, Turnstone have obtained full planning permission for a new 5 storey building, totalling 63,682 sq ft of Grade A office space, plus reception and roof terrace measuring 2,077 sq ft. 

VINCI Construction were awarded the £15m contract to construct the building. Construction commenced in Spring 2017 with completion in June 2018.

The cyber security specialist, Darktrace, have taken space on three floors of the building, totalling 25,107 sq ft.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Services (PwC) have taken 12,149 sq ft on the second floor for their new Cambridge Headquarters.

Mewburn Ellis LLP, a law firm specialising in intellectual property, occupy 6,949 sq ft on part of the ground floor.

Raspbery Pi, the computer education charity, occupy 7,648 sq ft on part first floor, with Automaton Games occupying the remaining 7,874 sq ft.

The last remaining suite of 3,955 sq ft on the second floor was let to Cambrionix in November 2019.
