A half-acre City Centre site acquired in 2002 for £2.979m through a joint venture with landowner Travelrest Services, as part of a deal to meet their operational hotel requirements at Turnstone’s Cambridge Leisure development.
A scheme was worked up for a Civil Justice Centre (County Court) extending to 33,746 sq ft. Pre-let concluded with the Court Service at an initial rent of £22.94 per sq ft for a 35 year lease. Planning permission received at appeal in January 2004.
Work commenced in March 2004 and completed in September 2005.
Scheme forward-sold to Merchant Place for £15.751m.
Officially opened on 24th March 2006.
